Cute Conversation with Little Man!

We were driving in the truck the other night and suddenly Dominick said "I want to go to Baton Rouge!" Jon and I looked at each other for a second wondering where Dominick heard that word from and then I said "Where do you want to go?". Again Dominick said "Baton Rouge". Then Jon said "Who lives in Baton Rouge?" and Dominick's answer was "GEORGE BUSH!... HE'S OLD!" Jon and I started cracking up laughing, we had both guessed by this point that he learned about George Bush and Baton Rouge (our state capitol) at school. So Jon said "Who told you about George Bush Dominick?" and he replied "Mrs. Jean told me that. He's old. George Bush is old Dad!" Too cute!!!! What a precious conversation with my most precious little man. I guess Dominick is learning something at school even though his teacher says he has trouble being quiet and being a good listener, hee-hee. We have been teaching him at home how to close his lips and keep them closed when Mrs. Jean is "having class time".

Practicing keeping his mouth shut

Demonstrating his "Mater Eye" from the Cars show.

By the way, I asked him while typing this "Dominick, who is Obama?" because I was wondering if his teacher had started talking about our new president and Dominick said "Barrak Obama". Then I asked him "Where does Barrak Obama live?" and his reply was "Ummm, George Bush!"

Christmas Picutres!

Can you believe it? I'm actually posting twice in a week!

This is Dominick's Pre-K class's party.

We let the kids open their gifts on Christmas Eve. We don't really do the whole Santa thing. Dominick knows who Santa is because of school and society in general, but Jon and I are not going to make a huge deal out of Santa. We want to keep it simple and focus on the real reason our family celebrates Christmas...the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. (By the way, I don't think there is anything wrong with Santa, etc. It is just a personal decision we have made.)

Nicole was is awe of her kitchen set. Too cute!

Izzy absolutely loved her big girl toys. The girls got an ironing board, baby strollers, baby doll beds, kitchen and tea sets, Cabbage Patch dolls, etc. Izzy thought it was so cool to get in her baby doll bed with her baby and she especially loved stripping the dolls and herself naked and changing their diapers!

This was one of my personal most enjoyable parts of our Christmas celebration. My parents take us out to eat at a nice restarant on Christmas Eve. It was so much fun to have an adult dinner and not have to run around the house catering to the 3 kiddos. The kids did come with us and were surprisingly very good.

Happy Birthday Jesus and Happy New Year!

We had a great Christmas! We went to my parents' house and everything was great! This was our first Christmas to have my two nieces (Dominick's beloved cousins) with us so it was special and fun. Dominick got a big boy bike amongst tons of other things, but one of the fun things for me was all the girly toys my nieces got. They got a kitchen set, ironing board, vacuum, dolls, strollers, etc. I had so much fun putting the kitchen set together. Since I don't have a girl (and probably never will-but that's OK), I love buying the girly toys for my nieces. I guess God gave me 2 little nieces so I'd have just enough fun with all the girly things I would have missed out on otherwise.

The most exciting thing in my life this past week has been planning for Dominick's new room. We are redecorating his room in dinosaurs. I have ordered all new furniture which should be here in about a week, and I've been ordering new curtains, bedding, pictures, and accessories in dinosaurs (Dominick's new passion is dinosaurs).

I ordered the bed, pull-out bed, dresser, mirror and chest of drawers. I will probably also order the night stand later because Jon wants it for when Dominick is older. He said he doesn't like "mis-matched furniture" so he wants me to add the night stand now instead of trying to get one to match later if necessary.

I'll try to post Christmas pictures this week, but you know how terrible I am about updating so don't hold your breath.
